Adoption Profile Design FAQ
We would like you to design our profile, what is our next step?
Contact us either by email or phone and we will discuss your profile time line and our availability. Once we decide on a date to begin the design you will receive a contract outlining the design time and payment schedule. Upon receipt of your payment we will hold your spot and we will begin working with you to get your letter and other information ready for the profile.
How long does it take for you to complete an adoption profile design?
It takes about 10 days to complete a design once we have all of text and photos.
How do we print the profile once the design is complete?
You will receive a high resolution PDF of your profile set up for “full bleed” printing in the size you requested. You may print it at the printer of your choice.
We can facilitate printing for you for an additional fee.
Do we have any input in the design and layout?
We will work with you every step of the way to ensure you are happy with the profile and that it accurately reflects you. We will send you different background options and color choices to choose from. Once the profile is complete you will have the opportunity to request revisions.
Will you work with my agency’s requirements?
Absolutely, we encourage you to send us your agency requirements up front and ask them to approve the design before we send it to print.
What do you need from us to get started?
Once we work with you to schedule your design time you will be asked to pay your deposit to hold your spot. We will also send you a contract and a list of the things required for the profile. These include an outline of the “dear birth mother” letter, a sample “dear birth mother” letter, and a list of required photos and other information.
How do we get our photos to you?
If the photos are digital, you may send us your photos and text via Dropbox. If your photos are hard copy, you may mail them to us and we will scan them and send them back.
How much is the design fee and when is it due?
The design fee is $750. This covers the upfront consultation, content editing of your birthmother letter, profile design, revisions and a PDF file of the completed profile. We spend between 30 and 50 hours on every profile. The first $375 of the fee is due upon reserving your design time. The remaining design fee ($375) is due upon your acceptance of the final design.
What is your refund policy?
If you change your mind after paying the initial fee but before we begin designing we will refund half of the initial fee ($200). Once the design process has begun the entire fee is non refundable. We will, however, work with you to create a profile you are happy with.
If you are ordering your profiles through us, it is your responsibility to proof the profile and be sure there are not any errors. We recommend having a friend or agency proof it as well. Once we place your printed profile order we cannot cancel it as they generally print the same day the order is placed. Because of this your printing fees are non refundable.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. We will email you an invoice which can be paid online.
